Recap

Philippine FC  5-1  AFC Shooters

Match Summary: (Philippine FC)

On a very grey and windy day, PFC faced AFC Shooters hoping to carry on their great run and create a big lead at the top.

Yet again, PFC fell behind early on through an own goal from an in-swinging corner that deflected off of the head of Jason Arroyo. The lead of Shooters didn’t last long when RJ Matias went on a run and the ball landed at the feet of Graeme Ryan who put it past the on rushing keeper.

The second half saw a different and determined PFC and right from the whistle, they pressed and moved the ball better. PFC took the lead through a penalty which was coolly slotted away by Michael Cepillo, which came after Jason Arroyo twisted and turned 2 defenders and drove into the box and was scythed down.

The goals came in quick order, the 3rd came when Jeff Burgin won the ball and put it through for Jason Arroyo to put it past the keeper. To top off a Man of the match performance, Michael won the ball in the middle of the pitch and drove and set up Rob DePeazer who hit a driven shot to the bottom right hand corner. The 5th and final goal came when Jeff Burgin ran down the left wing and sent in a driven cross which deflected off of the defender and went pass the rooted keeper.

The closing stages saw RJ Matias come off for Rommel Ongcoy, Eddie Gueverra for Ishan Al-Thamir and Jason Arroyo for Richie Capparos. The win sees PFC stretch their unbeaten run in the league to 8 games.
