Recap
Philippine FC 5-1 St. Peters
Match Summary: (Philippine FC)
New comers, Philippine FC faced a challenging game against St. Peters. The first 10 minutes did not go the way the debutants would have liked, as they went down 1-0 from the first corner of the game. After some re-grouping, PFC applied heavy pressure onto their opponents and this paid off when Raymond Tordecilla picked up the ball from 25 yards out and unleashed a shot which found its way to the back of the net. This was followed up by an amazing run from Haseeb Majeed who went past 3 players and took a blinding shot which resulted with the ball lifting over the keeper.
With the 2nd half on the way and with PFC full of confidence, the team didn’t have to wait long before they got their 3rd goal from a set piece when Eddie Gueverra was fouled just outside the penalty box. Rob DePeazer stepped up and whipped in a pinpoint delivery which was met by the diving head of Haseeb Majeed.
The 4th goal came from the unlikely header from Richie Caparros when Eddie Gueverra broke down the right and sent in a first time cross which caught the back line of St. Peter’s flat footed. The 5th and final goal was once again from another unlikely header from Sunny Boonlerthuthai when Cliff Gay-ya sent in a teasing delivery from a free kick on the left.
