Recap

Final Score:  St. Peters 3-1 Dinamo Dorigo

Match Summary:

We (ed. Dinamo Dorigo) were the better team for the first half with Austin Platt and Olly Walker up top causing plenty of trouble for their defence. Even so, we went down 1-0 after 15 minutes as a cross-come-shot flew past Scott Stephen Woods and into the far post from a corner kick. Debutant Will Patterson slid the ball into the box for Alex Walker to cut inside his man and smash it low at the near post for 1-1 before half time.

Second half saw us against the wind (that infamous 12th man on Hackney Marsh) and we struggled to unlock their defence quite so much, with fitness being questionable and no Liverpool high press on which to blame it. Unfortunately on the break they ended up 1 on 1 with Scott and he could only bring down the man as he approached goal. Yellow for Scott and penalty scored, 2-1 down. Their third came from sloppy defending on our part, asking for offside and never really clearing with conviction, the ball went lose to a St Peter’s CM on the edge of the box who smashed it in down the centre of the goal, the ball glancing off the bar for 3-1.
