Recap

Final Score:  Philippine FC   1-0  The Hurricanes

Match Summary: (Philippine FC)

A meeting between league leaders of Division 1 and Division 2. With the team re-shuffled due to injuries, there were returns to the starting lineups for Richie Capparos, Haseeb Majeed and Franz RJ Matias. With the two teams already meeting in pre-season, PFC set out to avenge a disappointing defeat and they were quick to get into their playing style testing the Hurricanes defence. 30 mins already played and with the team pressing, Rob DePeazer made a run through the middle of defence driving at the opposition and sent a deceiving reverse ball on to the on-rushing Raymond Tordecilla who hit a 35 yarder that swerved in the air and went over the keeper and in. With the half coming to a close, Hurricanes stepped it up a gear and tested the PFC defence which held up until the whistle.

With the second half beginning, PFC brought on Ishan Al-Thamir for the injured Eddie Gueverra. Hurricanes were pressing for the equaliser but the back 4 of PFC were more than up for the challenge, especially Danny Blair who snuffed out 3 goal bound chances. With 15 minutes to go Mark Munoz was brought on for Mike Cepillo to help tighten up the midfield. There were multiple chances for both teams to get goals with the best chance falling to Raymond Tordecilla. There was one last chance for Hurricanes to equalise but the diving finger tip save from Engel Cepillo ensured PFC ended the match as winners.
