Crouch End Rangers 1-3 Clerkenwell Old Boys

Sunday 19th February saw Clerkenwell Old Boys meet Crouch End Rangers in the much anticipated Challenge Cup Final and it only took nineteen seconds for the crowd to wait for the opener.  Steve Killingback, someone who was already highlighted as a threat, scored the first, with Dean Francis doubling Clerkenwell’s lead with a screamer – one that will be remembered for many years to come.

Crouch End Rangers didn’t stop battling, however, and managed to start the second half strongly. Their hard work was rewarded when John Adison slotted the ball into the net. Despite Crouch End pushing for the equalising goal, Clerkenwell managed to compose themselves, with Jamie Salvoni wrapping up the victory with a good finish.

All in all, it was a great day for everyone involved. Clerkenwell were obviously crowned Challenge Cup Champions, but Crouch End Rangers continually showed their ‘never say die’ attitude.

Well played to all the players who took part in the match and thank you to all the supporters who turned up as well.
