Chairman’s Message

Harry Chairman-250x540The  Camden Sunday Football League  is one of the friendliest adult football leagues in London, playing Sunday mornings at Hackney North Marsh from September through to May. Our football is true grassroots football, where players pay to play at the home of grassroots football.

Home clubs are expected to provide hospitality for the opposition and match officials at half time, acknowledging that there should be more to football than simply 90 minutes on the pitch. Everyone knows that they have to go back to work on Monday morning!

Match officials are an integral part of the game and very much part of the family. There is no “them and us” – officials are treated just as hospitably as the opposition. Anyone interested in officiating in the league will be very welcome.

Harry Yennaris, Chairman

The Camden Sunday Football League

Formed in 1947, The Camden Sunday Football League is a friendly and competitive senior men’s league in North London.  The league currently has 2 divisions and runs a further 3 to 4 cup tournaments each season.  All its matches are played on the North Marsh at Hackney Marshes.  Our motto ‘Non Sibi Sed Toti‘ means ‘Not for one’s self, but for all‘.  New teams, players and officials are always welcome to join the league.

Fantasy League Update – Gameweek 38 – The Finale!

Having maintained the lead for the 13th consecutive week “Solomon’s 11″ managed by Andrew Solomon are crowned CHAMPIONS of the 2016/17 CSFL Fantasy Football League.  Even though Andrew Solomon never won a manager of the month, his steady and consistent progress over a 13 week period ensured he finished as the winning manager.  Well done Andrew, well played.

2nd placed “Inspector Gadget” managed by Tom Patrick put up a good fight but, with a 100 point gap to make up, fell short in the closing stages.  ‘Forever Red’ managed by Forever Red posted back-to-back strong wins to finish the season in 3rd place tied on points with ‘SheWasOnlyXI’, managed by Ben Hawkins, but ahead by virtue of posting a higher score in GW38.  A very impressive performance in the final 2 weeks of the season by Rowan Lewin whose side ‘Lewin Orient’ scored  149 points and 86 points respectively,  helped him to sneak into the top 5 on the final day and also earn him the manager of the month award.

The award for Manager of the Month for May goes to Rowan Lewin whose team ‘Lewin Orient’ scored a whopping 319 points during the month.
