Whilst continuing to play. Fred became Fixture Secretary in the early fifties (80 teams) and thus established a firm friendship with “Bill”. He retired from playing in 1965 and was appointed League Secretary and he also qualified as a (not too successful) Referee. The tenure as League Secretary ended in 1975 with the award of Honorary Life Presidency.
Fred still attends League Meetings and enjoys Sunday mornings on the “Marsh” watching our Teams and Referees!
