Just for Testing

The Hurricanes FC were founded in 2010 and joined the Camden Sunday League for the 2010/11 season, starting out in Division 3. Under the steady guidance of Adam Lawrence the club stormed to the league title and the Junior Cup in their first season, with a further promotion from Division 2 to the top league secured the very next year. The ‘Canes then made a strong start to life in Division 1, adding the Bill Price Cup to their trophy collection and coming within a point of winning the league. The following three seasons were characterised by unfulfilled promise however, the Blues establishing themselves as a competitive if unremarkable Division 1 side and narrowly losing the Senior Cup final on penalties in 2014/15.

With the club’s early successes becoming a worryingly distant memory, manager Adam Lawrence stepped aside after 6 years at the helm to be replaced by Guy Horlock and his assistant Simon Lawrence for the start of the 2016/17 season. The pair had an immediate chance to return The Hurricanes to the glory years with the 2015/16 Presidents Cup final being played as their first competitive game in charge, but a 3-1 defeat took the shine off what had otherwise been an encouraging pre-season. Nevertheless, with new recruits still to make their full debuts and key players to return to the fold a positive mood abounds at the club – the new management team will be looking to enjoy a first-season as successful as their predecessor’s.
